Chapter 2.13 Four Months Later

 

Stella kicked the blanket off of her as she hit the snooze button on her alarm one last time before getting up. As she prepared for her day at Med School she reflected on how truly blessed she was; she had been rescued from an evil curse.

Stella smiled as she remembered the look on her aunts’ faces when she arrived home riding on the back of a dragon.

That was when Stella had Aunt April, Aunt May, and Aunt June fill in all of the missing details.  They explained everything from the very beginning starting with how Fay was able to alter the curse, and how she gave Stella to them to keep her safe.  Aunt June told Stella about Brandon showing up at their house after Maleficent called demanding ransom.  He risked his life to save Stella, something which they were all eternally grateful for.

 

Stella longed for some of Aunt May’s strawberry pancakes as she sat in her dining room eating cold cereal.  However, she did not regret her decision to move out.

“You three have been taking care of me my whole life.  Protecting me and keeping me safe,” Stella had told her aunts of her need for her own place, “I need to learn some independence, and you three need some rest.”

 

As Stella waited for the taxi to take her to Twinbrook Pidgin Foundation Hospital she reminisced about meeting her parents for the first time.  She had been so nervous the entire flight to Appaloosa Plains she couldn’t eat the complementary bag of peanuts. Even though April told her all about Cindy and Ryan Charming, they were still strangers to her and she had no idea what to expect.

What do I even call them? Mommy and Daddy, or Mr. & Mrs. Charming?

“I am just so glad you are here with us, once again!” Cindy couldn’t hold back the tears any longer as she wrapped her arms around her daughter.

The reunion was emotional. Cindy embraced Stella with a warm hug, and all of the nerves melted away.

 

On the other side of town three sisters were getting on with their day as well. April was trying her hardest to concentrate on her book, but it was no use. Her mind was somewhere else. Well, to be more accurate, her mind was on someone else. His name is Eugene, and they met when he came over to upgrade her TV. Eugene admired April’s comic book collection. Not only do they both love comics, but Eugene and April also enjoy playing videogames together.

 

At the same time May was tending to her garden, which has almost doubled in size.  Lucky for her she has some help with her; her new boyfriend Matt. Their relationship has been something straight from your favorite Rom Com. May was at the Farmer’s Market, which is usually where spends her Sunday afternoons. She made her way over to one stand selling fresh tomatoes. As May reached for a tomato, her hand brushed again someone else’s hand reaching for the same tomato. And the rest is romantic movie history.

 

Not to be outdone by her sisters, June too has a special someone.  June had a crazy, spontaneous decision to get a tattoo. April wasn’t sure it was a good idea, which made June even more determined to go through with her plan. She marched down to the salon and demanded that the man give her a tattoo. But as soon as she sat in the chair she started having second thoughts. Doug had seen this before. He was able to distract June with talk of the Twinbrook Llamas current winning season, not knowing that June was part of that team. Before she knew it, the tattoo was over. To commemorate her new awesome body art June and Doug posed for a selfie together. And she also left the tattoo salon with Doug’s phone number.

 

Yup, life is good.  Everything is going great for everyone!
